FAITH
The best advice that can ever be given to any Christian is to put God first. Christ summed it up best in Matthew 22:37-38 when He said to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. My life changed when I made that decision. That decision is what called me to become a Christian author!
COMMUNITY
A part of being a Christian is working to serve others. My favorite way to do that is by using words and humor to inspire. I realized this while helping women develop a more positive mindset about their value and body. So be sure, male or female, to visit my blog for uplifting messages and videos!
MY PASSION
My passion is public speaking. Feeling the energy in the room, uplifting an audience, hearing the laughter; for me, there is no greater feeling. My siblings and I joked about writing about growing up Crawford, but I don't know if any of us ever thought it would ever actually happen. As an adult I would often draw on lessons learned from my childhood, so when thinking of how to write about those stories it made sense to include the lessons I learned from them!
Black History is America's history and within it lies some of the most courageous examples of the power of the human spirit. In this talk, Silvia shares the story of Black Wall Street and what lead to the Tulsa race riot of 1921, but more importantly she brings about the lesson of hope and courage and how we can still use that in our lives today!
Listen as Silvia talks to a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) chapter to share with them three tips on how to build up their resilience, fight negative and unhelpful thoughts about their abilities as a parents, and how to accept the fact they are the perfect mother for their children.
Ever stop to think about what you have in common with a sea turtle? The answer is more than you probably realize. From the moment a sea turtle hatches it is met with challenges that it must fight in order to survive. In this talk Silvia shares the importance of this similarity and the most important thing you can do to build up your resilience to fight through life's challenges and reach your goals.
