What Is The Bluffs After Dark?

No. Participation is completely optional. Each household may decide whether—and how—it would like to take part. Residents may host an activity, hand out treats, participate in another way or choose not to participate at all.

No. Participation can be as simple as handing out candy or another treat. Households may also decorate, host a Passport Stop, judge a costume contest, offer a game or experience, help behind the scenes or suggest another idea.

An event map will identify participating homes, activities, Passport Stops, contest locations and other helpful event-night information. The map will be made available closer to October 31.

Please respond by September 20, 2026, to ensure your household can be included in activity planning and on the official event map. Late submissions may be accepted through October 1 when possible, but inclusion in printed materials cannot be guaranteed.

No. The Bluffs After Dark adds activities and experiences to the evening but does not replace traditional trick-or-treating. Each household can participate in the way that works best for it.

There is no participation fee. Each household decides what, if anything, it wants to spend. Many participation ideas use items residents may already own or require little additional cost.

No. Facebook is not required. Event information and updates will be available on this webpage, and the event map and other materials will be shared in ways residents can access without a Facebook account.

Yes. The House Participation Idea Guide is meant to provide inspiration, not limit anyone’s creativity. If you have another family-friendly idea, include it when you share your interest or sign up.

The event map will identify gentler, little-kid-friendly stops and activities intended for older visitors whenever that information is provided by the participating household.

No. Streets will remain open to normal traffic. Drivers should use extra caution, and children should remain supervised while moving through the neighborhood.

No. Households can choose the hours that work for them. Where needed, planned participation hours will be included on the event map or other event materials so visitors know when an activity is available.
